Dr. Lana Zinck, Ph.D., C. Psych.

Dr. Lana Zinck is a registered psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and parents. She completed her doctoral degree in School and Applied Child Psychology in the Department of Education and Counselling Psychology at McGill University. Dr. Zinck provides comprehensive psychoeducational assessments as well as evidence-based therapeutic interventions.  Dr. Zinck was employed at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) for 10 years where she completed assessments and provided counselling. In addition, she provided school-based consultations to educators and parents around learning, attention and social-emotional/behavioural concerns. Prior to her employment at the TDSB, Dr. Zinck worked at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

Dr. Zinck has experience working with children and adolescents who have learning disabilities, ADHD, as well as mood, anxiety, and behavioural difficulties. She believes that the therapeutic process provides a unique opportunity for young people to explore their feelings, better understand themselves and their relationships, and learn ways of coping with difficult feelings. Parents often play an integral role in this process.  Dr. Zinck works with parents who are looking to understand the behaviour of their child or teen and learn more effective and empathic ways of relating to them. She also helps parents learn how to reinforce appropriate coping behaviour in children and adolescents.
